José María Aznar deeply regrets the death of Carlos Robles Piquer, of whom he has highlighted for "his contribution to the democratic Transition and the consolidation of a great political force of the reform path of the center-right.
"I deeply regret the death of Carlos Robles Piquer, of whom I would like to stress his admirable career as a public official and his contribution to the democratic Transition and the consolidation of a great political force of the center-right reformist movement.
I have always admired his large knowledge about culture, and his concern for the promotion of culture and the spread of ideas in general. He was very aware of the importance of this issue in the political field, as he has demonstrated in his books, along his time as President of the Cánovas del Castillo Foundation and also with his long-lasting association with FAES as a member of his Board.
I would like to express my condolences and sympathy with his widow, Elisa, and to all members of her family”.
