This afternoon, the editorial board member of 'Die Zeit' and professor at Stanford University, Josef Joffe, and the member of the FAES Board of Trusteed, Mira Milosevich, will discuss about the German management of the COVID-19 crisis. Germany had around 163.000 confirmed COVID-19 cases by last week, according to data from Johns Hopkins University, making it the world’s sixth-most-affected country. But its death rate, both relative to the number of patients and to the country’s population, is remarkably low, at around 6,600. This translates to 79 deaths per million inhabitants, compared with 500 for Spain, 463 for Italy, 364 for France, and 191 for the U.S.
